SHANNAH ZINKIEVICH, LICSW (MA), LCSW (CT)
It’s time to prioritize yourself.
You remember a time when anxiety, grief, overwhelm and feeling stuck weren’t the “norm,” … but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that? You’ve realized it’s time to make a change so that you can get back to doing the things that you love.
YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.
I’m here to provide you with the care and expertise you deserve.
Hi, I’m Shannah. I work with individuals and caregivers facing medical challenges, providing a calm, supportive space to process what’s happening and find ways to cope.
Many of today’s therapeutic approaches are one-size-fits-all and not tailored to those who are struggling with medical issues, causing them to feel like they’re not being understood. I know your circumstances are unique, so every step we take is tailored to the way your life is being impacted.
YOU DESERVE SUPPORT AS YOU NAVIGATE LIFE WITH ILLNESS.
I’M HERE TO HELP.
I help my clients find strength, resilience and fulfillment by equipping them with the tools they need to cope with medical issues and live more joyfully.
First, we will examine what is causing the overwhelm and sadness you are struggling with. Then, we will work on the self-advocacy skills, behavior changes and/or anxiety management tools that will be most effective for you. Together, we’ll build skills that support you in living in a way that feels more manageable and meaningful to you.
The Work I do
I am dedicated to helping people get back into the driver’s seat of their lives and stop letting illness be in control.
My experience in supporting individuals and caregivers struggling with illness or trauma means I have the expertise you need and deserve when you are working to accept your or your loved one’s medical issue. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be a person or caregiver struggling with cancer, chronic illness or medical trauma, right?
I get it because I have dedicated my career to those struggling with medical issues and have personally received medical news that no one wants to hear, including: “You have cancer.” You feel like your only option is to isolate yourself from those that you love and let medical issues take over your life. When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through.
