Finding strength and support while living with cancer.
Online Counseling for Individuals and Caregivers Navigating Cancer in Massachusetts and Connecticut
It’s like you can never enjoy the present moment.
Are you tired of constantly thinking about cancer and what your future holds?
Maybe you are finding it difficult to figure out your place in the world since the cancer diagnosis, or perhaps you wonder why this is happening to you and what it all means when you or a loved one are struggling through side effects.
You may be irritable with those around you because you feel like you have a ticking time bomb inside you or simply find yourself spending more time alone because it feels like no one else gets it (even those you love).
Perhaps you’re feeling like you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror anymore.
Does this
sound like you?
Pulling away from the people and activities you used to enjoy because you don’t have the energy to socialize or do the things you love.
Tired of feeling like you have lost your pre-cancer life and resent your friends and family who get to carry on living their carefree lives.
Wishing that you could take your life off hold and stop spending all of your time planning instead of living the life you envisioned.
Counseling can help you take your life back from cancer.
HERE’S WHAT WE’LL DO TOGETHER
It may feel impossible now, but you can stop thinking about cancer all of the time. You can decrease your anxiety about recurrence and treatments/scans. You can experience moments of joy, even if things are still hard. And I can help you get there.
Counseling for cancer provides you with the support you deserve:
Learn communication techniques to better advocate your needs and concerns with your
medical team.
Manage difficult emotions such as anger, resentment and grief more easily.
Reduce your anxiety about recurrence and treatment by gaining new coping skills.
Understand how cancer has changed you emotionally and mentally, and find support for making sense of the experience.
MY APPROACH to cancer comes from a place of validation:
Believing that while you wish you never had to go through such experiences, you can also see you have been changed through them, and in some ways, you have changed for the better and found out what’s important to you.
Cancer does not have to define you.
Cancer does not have to define you.
